Personal correspondence and other papers, in part relating to Craig's activities as member of the North Carolina legislature (1898-1903) and as governor (1913-1917). Includes copies of political and religious speeches, and one on Freemasonry; and a chemistry notebook kept by Craig while a student at the University of North Carolina. The correspondence includes recommendations from university professors; letters from his mother; letters from Craig to his sons, Carlyle and Arthur, at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis; and a letter from Carlyle Craig describing a voyage to the Azores and the Island of Fayal. Other correspondents include J.W. Bailey, Kemp P. Battle, H.G. Connor, A.W. Mangum, W.J. Peele, J.C. Pritchard, Woodrow Wilson, F.D. Winston, and G.T. Winston.
